Programs to support faculty in terms of their knowledge and understanding
The university’s Military Education Department provides new hire orientation to all staff and faculty, and periodic briefings regarding veterans’ benefits and issues. Staff and faculty are encouraged to refer student issues to the Military Education Department, which is staffed by veterans.

Military students called to active service return without penalty policy
No penalties, either academically or financially, are implemented for absences required by military duties. Leave of absences are limited to 6 weeks. Students who deploy for more than 6 weeks, and do not participate in the online courses, are removed from the active student status. When the student returns and is ready to resume study, they are re-admitted without financial penalty. There is no admission fee, no registration fee, and the tuition price in effect at the original enrollment is applied, without applying any tuition increases during the absence.
