Sam Houston accepts a maximum of 66 academic hours plus four hours of kinesiology for a total of 70 semester hours from accredited community colleges. All academic courses attempted at a four-year regionally accredited U.S. college or university will be reviewed for transferability.

If a student is called into active duty while in school they can leave without any penalty and when they return they will be exempt from application fees and be accepted back into school.

It is in the Texas Eduaction Code that students called to active duty while enrolled will be given a full refund of their tuition and fees or with the cooperation of the professor be given a grade for the course completed up to their resignation point if late in the semester.
