Policy on the transfer of creditsA student who completes a post-baccalaureate, baccalaureate,
Associate of Arts, or Associate of Science degree at any Oklahoma
State Regents for Higher Education institution may transfer
into a UCO baccalaureate program with general education requirements
met. Additional courses, however, may be required as prerequisites for a major or to meet certain professional certification requirements as defined by the state, for example, in teacher education if not previously taken. Responsibility to assure all university core requirements are met as part of the curriculum
of the first degree rests with the transferring institution, i.e., the
institution from which the student received the transferred degree.
General education credit earned at regionally accredited colleges
or universities within the Oklahoma state system will apply toward
the basic (OSRHE minimum) general education component at UCO in the same way the credit would apply at the institution at which it was earned. Degree

Policy concerning students who are involuntarily activated for military serviceThe University works under the policy written by Dr. Don Betz (Provost at the time and current President) in 2003. If the reservists provide deployment orders they can do a NR withdraw if that is the best solution for them depending on their financial aid status, or they can talk to instructors about a final grade, I grade, etc., (it is up to instructor). Once they return, they provide the Director of Admissions with their deployment orders, he/she waives the readmission fee, and if they were enrolled at the time of deployment, they will be eligible for priority enrollment.
Why this school is an excellent choice for military membersWith UCO’s metropolitan campus location in close proximity to three military installations: Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, OK; Fort Sill Army Base in Lawton, OK; and Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK, UCO is an ideal choice for military members seeking their degrees. UCO houses Paralympic athletes serving as an advantage in recruiting, connecting, retaining and graduating disabled veterans. UCO opened its Veterans’ Higher Education Resource Office designed as a centralized office to support veteran and military student success in postsecondary education by coordinating services to address the academic, financial, physical, and social needs of veteran students.
