Profile
Cameron University is the University of Choice for the military and their family members. Cameron is a core member of the Servicemember Opportunity Colleges’ (SOC) Degree Network System, and participates in the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement program. CU has offered regularly-scheduled classes at the Harry S. Truman Education Center on post at Fort Sill since 1983, and has had an office on post providing admissions and enrollment services since 1989. Cameron also provides computers in the Truman Education Center. Cameron’s Freedom to Learn program provides a free laptop to any active military member enrolled in more than six online hours at CU, so they can continue their studies anywhere. If they receive their degree from Cameron, they keep the laptop. Cameron’s George D. Keathley Department of Military Science is home to the Comanche Battalion, one of the top Army ROTC programs in the nation. The Comanche Battalion has been recognized on multiple occasions with the MacArthur Award, signifying Best in Brigade. Cameron also recognizes the recreational and cultural needs of military families, offering a variety of free and reduced admission activities; examples include athletics, concerts, theatrical events and lectures.

Policy on the transfer of credits
Semester hours transferred from accredited colleges and universities are equated on a one-to-one basis. Quarter hours are equated on the basis of three quarter hours to two semester hours. The maximum number of lower division hours transferred from non-baccalaureate degree granting institutions which may be applied toward baccalaureate degree requirements is equal to the total hours required for the degree less 60. Responsibility for determining the applicability of transfer credits to meet major or minor requirements rests with the dean of the school offering the major or minor. This responsibility may be delegated to department chairs or faculty members under the supervision of the dean. The Provost is ultimately responsible for determining the applicability of transfer credits to meet general education requirements.
