Policy on the transfer of creditsThe maximum number of transfer hours accepted from a two-year institution ranges from 60-64 credits. although there is no limit on credit hours accepted from a student who transferes from a four-year institution, a 30-hour residency is required to graduate from UNC Pembroke, and students must satisfy all UNCP degree requirements in their chosen major.
Generally speaking, if a student participated in a college transfer program and received an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Fine Arts degree, those credits should transfer. UNCP participates in the North Carolina Comprehensive Articulation Agreement with the North Carolina Community College System. Courses from two-year schools outside of North Carolina are evaluated on an individual basis.
Courses taken at regionally accredited four-year colleges and universities are normally accepted with grades of "C" or higher. In cases where UNCP offers a similar course, specific course credit is given. In other case
