I was prompted to return to school to better myself educationally, and find out exactly where I wanted to go with a degree that I chose. The faculty's knowledge about military veterans has really boosted my morale about going to school at Daemen College.

Programs to support faculty in terms of their knowledge and understandingThe Director of The Center for Veterans and Veteran Family Services conducts In-Service training seminars for staff and faculty on a regular basis.
Policy concerning students who are involuntarily activated for military serviceStudents who are activated for military service notify the Veteran Certification Officer (VCO)and provide a copy of their orders. At that point, the VCO provides each student with a military leave of absence, and will cancel their current registration. Such students have the choice of a full refund, or may elect a credit towards a future semester of registration upon their return. Also at the same time, their faculty are notified that they have left the campus for military duty, and GI Bill benefits are terminated. Since the students are on a military leave, they remain active students; hence, when they return, they can immediately contact their advisor and register via our online registration system.
Why this school is an excellent choice for military membersWe have military veteran staff who were educated under the GI Bill and understand the needs of returning service members. In addition, we have a very active Student Veterans of America Chapter, a great veterans lounge, a Center for Veterans & Veteran Family Services that focuses on educational, social, mental and physical aspects of the military family.
