Founded in 1889, Saint Leo University is a Catholic, co-educational, liberal arts university that welcomes and serves people of all faiths and backgrounds. Saint Leo University recognizes transfer credit only from regionally accredited institutions. Students who transfer to the University with an Associate of Arts degree will have general education requirements met with the exception of COM-140 and one upper level religious studies course. See http://info.saintleo.edu/COL/Advising/Transfer.cfm for more information on Saint Leo University's policy concerning the acceptance of both traditional and nontraditional transfer credit.

Saint Leo University now has a Director of Veteran Students Services. Saint Leo University has also conducted professional development training for faculty and staff in the Virginia Region.
Military students called to active service return without penalty policy
Students called to active duty or deployment can return without penalty. There is no re-application requirement. Students have 7 years from the time they are admitted to finish the requirements. There is no penalty for breaks in service for less than 2 years. If after two years, the student would need to move up to the new catalog requirements. With the variety of delivery methods we have from online to CDROM, often students deployed can continue their studies.
Policy concerning students who are involuntarily activated for military service
Military students called away and unable to complete a class may qualify for a WE - withdrawn excused grade which permits the student to retake the course later at no tuition cost to the student.

Saint Leo University has served the educational needs of the military for 39 years. With education centers on military bases throughout the country, we educate thousands of service members and dependents yearly. Saint Leo also leads in the delivery of courses that allow servicemembers to continue their education when deployed anywhere in the world. Students use computers to access courses when schedules permit and can even join live classroom discussions with classmates wherever they are stationed. With pride, we continue to meet the educational needs of all of our servicemembers.
