Policy on the transfer of creditsOnly courses with grades of "C" or higher will transfer. Students transferring from two-year collegiate institutions may transfer a maximum of 68 semester hours to SAU. All transfer work will be evaluated by the dean of the appropriate college and the Office of the Registrar. Courses taken at a lower-division level which are offered at the upper-division level at SAU cannot be accepted for degree credit unless validated satisfactorily.
Noteworthy awards or recognitionsIn December 2004, the readers of Arkansas Business, the state's weekly newspaper for business, voted SAU College of Business as the Best Business School in the state. In 2004, the Magnolia-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce selected SAU as "Industry of the Year". The award was for the construction of a $12,000,000+ campus and community center and plans for several additional buildings to be constructed. In November 2010, SAU received the Commitment Level Award at the 16th Annual Arkansas Governor's Quality Awards. SAU has received The President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. SAU was reclassified as a Master's M level institution by the Carnegie Foundation.

Why this school is an excellent choice for military membersSAU's Veterans Resource Center offers a computer/study lab, brochures to assist veterans into University life, educational checklists, and information about campus offices (Employment Resource Center; Counseling and Testing Center; Advising Center; Writing Center; Tutoring Center; Unversity Health Services; Student Support Services) There is a veterans' website, newsletter, and mentor program with faculty/staff veterans. SAU pays tuition/fees unpaid by veteran's benefits for veterans qualifying for the Yellow Ribbon Program. SAU has deployment policies and never penelizes students. SAU's memorandum of understanding with Arkansas Air National Guard waives 25% of tuition for those approved to receive asstance by the Base Education Office.
