MyCAA Eligibility

Eligible spouses can receive $4,000 in DoD-funded financial aid, with an annual cap of $2,000 per fiscal year. The program includes these guidelines:

•Spouses must use their funding within a three-year time period from the start date of the first class

• Funds must be used in support of an associate degree, licensure or certification. A waiver may be granted when fees for licensure or certification require an up-front fee greater than $2,000 and up to the total maximum assistance of $4,000.

• Regardless of their participation in the funding component of MyCAA, education and career counseling will be available to all military spouses in pursuit of portable careers in high-demand, high-growth occupations.

According to DoD officials, the guidelines reflect a return to the original intent of the program: to assist spouses of service members in the pay grades of E1-E5, W1-W2, and O1-O2 achieve portable careers.
